Help wanted (click the link to the right). Putting on a great fall fling with fun activities for the kids requires a lot of helping hands. Please sign up to work a shift or two at the fair.
Cakes and bake sale items are wanted! Whether it’s store bought or baked at home, everyone loves to win a cake. Please sign up to donate a cake or baked goods (sign up on the right). Donations can be dropped off between 3-4 pm on Thursday or between 9 and 3:40 on Friday (October 14th) in the Bucher office.
Raffle Basket donations are also needed. If you would like to make a donation please return the form sent home with your child in the fall fair packet. Thank you!
Thanks so much to Bucher’s parents, teachers, administrators and students for making the Fall Fair a huge success! We had great cakes for cake walk and a wonderful turnout. The raffle baskets were amazing. Particular thanks to Tonya Dudak, Jennifer Brownell, Hillary Mountis, Meghan Eckert & Swathi Iyengar for their hard work in organizing the event. Thanks much to all of the amazing parent volunteers who spent time at the gaming, food, and raffle events. A big shout out to Mrs. Coppola and Mr. G for manning some of our game stations, and Linda Swift & Principal Martin for their help with the clean up. We couldn’t do it without you!
Scoops Food Truck is always a big supporter of the Fall and Spring events – we appreciate their time and their great food. If you have pictures of the event that you would like to submit for potential yearbook use, email them to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Buy your tickets in advance and save money! Tickets will be $0.50 on the night of the Fair, but order yours before Wednesday, October 21 and $5 will get you 12 tickets instead of 10! $10 will get you 25 tickets instead of 20! What a DEAL!

Bucher’s Fall Fair Pumpkin Decorating Competition
Bucher’s amazing teachers have done it again! With pumpkins decorated as a number of characters and figures, our teachers have outdone themselves once again.
1st Place: Mrs. Burkett with her Dunkin Donuts themed pumpkins (pictured left).
2nd Place: Miss Baker’s Disney themed pumpkins (Mickey & Minnie, Elsa & Olaf, and more!).
3rd Place: Mrs. Parsons Minecraft themed pumpkins (Creepers, Steve, and more!).
Also important to note, PTO presidents Meghan Eckert and Hillary Mountis did an amazing job putting together some fabulous gifts, auction items, and raffle baskets. Please email email@example.com if you have a business that you would like us to include in future raffles and events.
Principal Aldinger donated a gorgeous autumn photo and Mr. and Mrs. Swift contributed Eagles Tickets donated by Mark F. Seltzer & Associates. Other auction items included a Laser Tag Party and a Brent Miller Jeweler Necklace valued at over $250. Thanks to all who helped out!

Here is a sneak preview of the pumpkins that I’m sure your kiddos have been telling you about all week long. Our talented faculty and staff created these pumpkins in what has become an annual contest for bragging rights and the really cool trophy you’ll see in the pictures with last year’s winner, Mrs. Druck.
The students don’t know who created the pumpkins and they get three votes so they can split their votes or cast all three votes for one pumpkin if they want. You are getting to see before they do, just who created these fantastic pumpkin art pieces! The competition certainly increased this year and got very creative!!
Please keep the makers of the pumpkins secret–the names will be announced at tonight’s Fall Fling, along with the names of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners! The pumpkins will be on display in the library during tonight’s Fall Fling for closer viewing.

Come to Bucher’s Book Fair – where reading is out of this world! This year, not only can your children purchase books for themselves or for their teacher’s classroom library, but you can also help build Bucher Library’s collection of books for all our kids to enjoy! It’s easy to donate a book to the Bucher Library during the Book Fair – Just buy a book for the Library from Mrs. Canady’s “Librarian Picks” table or donate your extra change at the cash register when you check out. Here are the details of the Fair:
- Students will get to Preview the books with their classes on Friday, Oct. 14th so they can make a “wish list” of what they’d like to buy. Volunteers will help the younger children record their ‘wish list’.
- Students will visit the Fair during their class’s normal library time during the week of Oct 17-21 and can purchase at that time.
- Parents can purchase during the day or with their students during the Fall Fling on Thursday, Oct. 20 from 5:30-7:30pm. This is also a great time to check out the “Teacher Wishlist” board to help your child’s teacher build his/her classroom library. And don’t forget to help the Bucher Library grow by donating “Librarian Pick” books or donating your spare change at the check out!
